Hi my name is Shanequa "Shai" Staton and I am the founder of Kissing Grace. Kissing Grace is a handmade cosmetics line that empowers women to apply the Word of God through makeup. As women we can become so consumed with our outward appearance that we focus more on being made up physically, instead of allowing God to "make us up" spiritually. The same way we apply our makeup God wants us applying His Word. In the physical world makeup covers and conceals, but in the spiritual world makeup reveals and heals.
By the grace of God my mission for Kissing Grace is for it to become more than just a cosmetic line but a lifestyle, a desire and position of one's heart. When we kiss God it involves more than just the movement of our lips, it is an inward touch of our hearts. We focus our hearts on Him and position them to face Him removing anything in our lives that would distract us from closeness with Him. We intentionally set our hearts to search after Him, realizing that nothing stands in comparison to the satisfaction and fulfillment that God provides. Through Kissing Grace I want to empower women to pursue and build an intimate love relationship with their Heavenly Bridegroom and seek after His heart whether single or married. I want to help them discover their true identity and purpose as the bride of Christ. Though we are undeserving, God generously gives us the grace we need for each day and in response we should kiss the lips of His grace.
Aside from being the founder of Kissing Grace Shai is a wife, mother of four, author, and makeup artist. At a young age she has devoted her life and ministry to serving the Lord. With a burning desire to minister through her writing and makeup she empowers, equips, and educates women on the importance of beauty both physically and spiritually. She desires to help bring women into a deeper and intimate relationship with God.
"But- When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life." (Titus 3:4-7)
"So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in the mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it." (James 1:21-25)
